We distributed the tasks: technical implementation was the task of the development team, and I started to deal with the design. Setting out from closeness to nature as the key word, I had to find a material to cover the printed circuit board.
The ideal material is easy to form, available, accessible, long-lasting and looks good!
A plastic, rubber and metal cover would be the most obvious – this would have been the best choice from many viewpoints, but these are ordinary, everyday materials. We had some discussions about leather and bone, but these did not meet the requirements. We chose wood!
Thus I started to think, calculate, and draw: what shape, size, form and style would fit our device the best?
